Biography
Esen Tuna is the technical advisor and manager of the Research Data Services Lab of Research Technologies at Indiana University. He and his team provide cyberinfrastructure support and consulting for data management, databases for research, research dataset and software. Tuna is also an adjunct lecturer of the Operations and Decision Technologies department at the Kelley School of Business. His 30 years of professional experience started as a researcher, a software developer, and architect. He led engineering teams developing and deploying software products and services using relational and noSQL databases, private/public clouds, high performance systems and analytics tools in software and telecommunications companies. Tuna served as a board member of the multi-national ITEA and Celtic-Plus organizations, where he was involved in setting strategies and roadmaps for collaborative European research and development projects. Tuna holds a computer engineering degree from Bogazici University and a Master of Computer Science from Indiana University.
