Taylor Woodward recently completed his dual Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Psychology in the lab of Andrea Hohmann at Indiana University in Bloomington. His dissertation centered around how genetic deletion of the endocannabinoid-synthesizing enzyme NAPE-PLD influences stress response and addiction-related behaviors. He received a B.S. in Neuroscience from Brigham Young University where he performed patch clamp electrophysiology experiments to investigate how ethanol influences synaptic activity of dopamine neurons. Taylor shares his nerdiness for science by several outreach endeavors, including the creation of award-winning science music videos and serving as the Editor-at-large for ScIU, a graduate student-led science blog at IU. As a researcher he hopes to uncover mechanisms that can lead to the discovery of viable treatments for opioid addiction.
