Biography
Alan Walsh is a twenty-five year veteran of Information Technology (IT). He currently serves as a data engineer in the Pervasive Technology Institute (PTI) at Indiana University helping researchers conduct big data analytics using on-premises and cloud computing resources. He is also an adjunct instructor in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Previous roles include management of IT Community Partnerships, the university Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system, as well as identity and access, where his team was responsible for directory data, access provisioning, password management, web single sign-on, and federated identity for the institution. His career also involves numerous inter-institutional projects. He served as inaugural co-chair of the Identity Management Taskforce for the Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA), and he is a regular presenter at regional and national conferences.
